Handmade glass “waterlilies”
In these pieces, the glass floral is made using a technique that embeds the flower under a gather of molten clear glass. It has a deep “underwater” look.
Mounted in a substantial sterling bezel setting, custom-fit to the glass, the pieces capture and strongly reflect ambient light. They are very eye-catching, even from a distance away.
Miniature entrapped air bubbles are usually something to be avoided in handmade glass, but in this case they only enhance the underwater effect.

It don’t come easy
That Ringo song is playing in my head as I look at my growing pile of mistakes and failed experiments:

This is all silver, so this is getting expen$ive. I think I just have to make every possible mistake, and then it will “come easy”. Of course when you do one correctly it helps ease the pain:
“Making Glass Jewelry”
This was a demonstration video that we made for art shows, to give people a sense of the glass working process. Sorry about the cheesy music track…but it’s better than listening to the torch.
Although this is not narrated, hopefully the titles give you some idea of the process, and the delicate way that heat has to be managed in the glass to build the core bead and add decoration.
I think this video had over 13K views on YouTube when I checked last. I just put that video up on a whim, but maybe people are out there looking for instructional glass making information. We’ll do more soon.
Thanks my greybucket friend
…you saved me from a lot of WordPress anxiety. I needed a blog that handled media in an elegant way. I spent a chunk of time trying to make Gallery2 work in WordPress, but I was never happy with the way it looked (my CSS and WP inexperience).
So then I found Tumblr. That was the holy grail for me, but I just wasn’t comfortable making a commitment to it. I’d rather have a blog hosted somewhere under my control, and if I ever decide to do AdSense…does Tumblr let you?
So searching for Tumblr + WordPress, I found your theme… thank you so much!
